Youth

The primary goal of the youth ministry at Signal Mountain Baptist Church is to walk alongside teenagers as they grow in their faith, learning to love God and one another. We offer a variety of events and activities in which our students actively participate in worship, ministry, fellowship, and spiritual formation. Our hope is that students will not only come and be a part of the life and ministry of Signal Mountain Baptist Church, but grow into spiritually strong young adults.
About Us:
  • Sunday School – Sundays at 9:45 a.m. in the Youth Room
We begin each Sunday morning with a snack breakfast, a large group activity, and singing before breaking off into smaller groups for Bible study.  These small groups provide youth with the opportunity to engage each other and the teacher in meaningful conversation about the Bible, life, and other relevant topics.
  • Youth Group – LOL Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Youth Room and Chapel
Wednesday nights are a great opportunity to experience the youth ministry at Signal Mountain Baptist! We provide an opportunity for youth to come and hangout together after school at 4:30. Pizza is served at 5:30 each week for $1 followed by our Living Out Loud Youth Service at 6:00 in the Chapel. This service starts with youth living out loud in song, games and skits. We then break up in small group for Bible study. We come back together as a large group to experience a connection with God's word and the daily lives of students, either through adult leaders, students, or guest speakers.  Our goal is to teach youth how to "Live Out Loud" in their faith daily.

Ministry Opportunities
We do our best to follow Jesus’ example by meeting the needs of those around us. From time to time, we go out into our community and do missions work. This is one of the most important things that we do as a youth group.
  •  Fellowships/Parties/Games

We like to have fun together! We try to plan different events that give you an opportunity to have fun while spending time with other youth. Activities that we have on a regular basis are D.o.t.T (Dinner on the Town), M.S.O.(Middle School Only) and H.S.O.(High School Only) activities, and retreats annually.  We also typically plan a trip to an amusement park in the summer.

  •  Summer Camps/Mission Trips
These are very important events for our youth. We generally attend a Youth Camp in June, and we schedule two different mission trips during the summer.  One mission trip is open to all youth while the other trip is specifically for high school students. These are always meaningful trips. One youth has described these as "going on a trip with Jesus."
  •  Most importantly, our youth ministry is a place where all youth are welcome.
