Sunday School

One of the most important ministries at Signal Mountain Baptist Church is our Sunday School program. Just as Jesus did, we are all to “grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52) One of the best ways for us to do that is through studying God’s Word.   Each week we gather in small, somewhat age-graded Sunday School classes to study a particular passage of scripture. Through the study and teaching of a class facilitator, we read and discuss what the scripture has to say to us today. In addition to providing small learning environments, these Sunday School classes also seek to provide friendship and fellowship as we care for one another’s needs. There are classes available for all ages, birth through senior adults. Our adult classes, some being co-ed and others being separate for men and women, are able to choose what their class studies and whether their class is geared more for a lecture or discussion type leaning style. There are several classes available in each age group and visitors are encouraged to visit different classes until they find the place where they feel God is leading them.

Bed Babies
Macky Fletcher heads our group of paid nursery workers who care for our children on Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday night. This way, the children become very familiar with Mrs. Fletcher and the other workers which helps in their transition time from parents.

Our other preschool classes are led by volunteers who love our preschoolers and provide lessons and activities to help them begin to know that God loves them and that their church is a happy, loving place.
